Jose Sanz Mengibar
Jose Sanz Mengibar joined Kiki's clinic in 2008. Jose came directly from an
Early Intervention Centre in Madrid, Spain.
From 2002 Jose worked in Madrid in paediatric rehabilitation. Prior to that
he had spent a year at the Vojta Centre in Rome (Italy). He also spent a
month in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), on an exchange experience in paediatric
neurological rehabilitation with the Physiotherapy Association of Madrid.
Jose graduated in Physiotherapy for the Rey Juan Carlos University in
Madrid, Postgraduate in physiotherapy in paediatric neurological disorders
and is currently completing an Official Master Degree on neurological
rehabilitation.
He has gained the Official Vojta Therapist diploma from the International
Vojta Association (Internationale Vojta Gesellschaft e.V, Germany). He is an
active member of the Spanish Vojta Association, collaborating on the Vojta
Therapy Courses and workshops. In addition Jose has Bobath training and
experience.
Jose has published seven Spanish language physiotherapy books. His books
focussed on children include:
- 50 ejercicios para tu bebé. (50 exercises for your baby)
- 50 preguntas y respuestas para padres y bebes. (50 questions and answers for fathers and babies)
- 50 consejos para calmar el llanto. (50 tricks to calm and stop babies crying)
- Masaje para bebes. Ejercicios y estimulación. (Massage for babies. Exercises and stimulation)
Jose was a professional gymnast in Spain for 10 years. He then trained in
physiotherapy. His first post was physiotherapist for an artistic gymnastic
team working with children between 6 and 18, working with all kind of
musculoskeletical disorders, sport injuries in children, and postural
disorders. As well as physiotherapy Jose also offers gym sessions for
children up to 18.
Jose speaks fluent Spanish, Italian and English. He also speaks "a little
Portuguese, and if that were not enough, he says he now wants to learn
German
